A Cbox.

Alright, so I took the liberty of installing this little thing called a CBox on the right side of the page. It's a place for those of you who read but do not comment, to give us a little shout out action.

If you're still not interested in posting, well eff you then!

Derrick Rose: Fuck you, no!

Derrick Rose is a guard for the Memphis Tigers and when he was seven years old, he fell off his bike and got his head run over by another kid riding a bike. Ouchies.

Now he's afraid of needles.

It doesn't help when you collide with a fellow player and get a stitch-worthy gash above your right eye. Apparently he had the cut glued in Memphis' 92-74 win over Michigan State, but blood would trickle down from the cut...At the hospital Rose broke away from Nurses and his mother who had tirelessly tried to subdue him in order to put the stitches in. He was finally strapped down and given the stitches, but he was pretty upset with everyone.

"The nurses at the hospital were holding him down and he was so scared he broke away from them and got up," his mother, Brenda Rose, said in a phone interview. "So they had to tape him to the gurney and do the stitches. He was mad at everyone that day."

Memphis won the game, but with Rose in the locker room the Tigers were outscored 17-4; Not so good. Rose said he hoped the cut didn't bleed, but if it did, he said through a morose grin, "I'll just have to hide it from the ref."

Clinton should skedaddle...

Barack Obama is probably going to get the Dem-Nod; it's only a matter of time. People (important people) are saying that Hillary Clinton should drop out of the Democratic Race, but Obama went on record as saying that she's welcome to stay in the Presidential Race.

"My attitude is that Senator Clinton can run as long as she wants. Her name is on the ballot and she is a fierce and formidable competitor," said Obama.

Democrats are split on who to back in this particular race, and they're letting it be known.

It's time for an OBAMA-NATION!

What's up!?

NFL Draft Prospect Heath Benedict dies at 24

Heath Benedict, a 2-Time Little All-American Offensive Lineman was found dead on his couch at the age of 24. He finished up his Senior year last year at Newberry College, and was 9-hours short of a Business Degree.

He left school last fall to train for the NFL Draft - the 6'6" 256 pounder actually joined the Senior Bowl and was the first Division II player to do so since 2004 - he was also invited to the NFL Combine last month...

Benedict red-shirted at TENN before transferring to Newberry.

Marc's Baseball Preview

Yeah...you read the title, here's how I think this season is going to go down. The record in parenthesis are what I think each teams W/L record is going to be.

AL East

Boston (96-66)
NY Yankees (92-70)
Toronto (87-75)
Tampa Bay (79-83)
Baltimore (73-89)

AL Central

Detroit (98-64)
Cleveland (93-69)
Chicago (84-78)
Minnesota (78-84)
Kansas City (72-90)

AL West

LA Angels (90-72)
Seattle (85-77)
Oakland (81-81)
Texas (79-83)

NL East

NY Mets (93-69)
Atlanta (88-76)
Philadelphia (85-79)
Washington (74-88)
Florida (67-95)

NL Central

Chicago (84-78)
Milwaukee (82-80)
Cincinnati (78-84)
St. Louis (75-87)
Pittsburgh (74-88)
Houston (72-90) * My choice for team most likely to fall from grace

NL West

Arizona (98-64) (WATCH OUT for this team)
LA Dodgers (89-73)
Colorado (85-77)
San Diego (83-79)
San Francisco (65-97) * My Choice for WORST TEAM IN BASEBALL

AL Division Winners: Boston, Detroit, Angels
Wild Card: Cleveland (I'm sorry...but I just don't think the Yankees have enough pitching)

NL Division Winners: Mets, Chicago, Arizona
NL Wild Card: Braves

Playoff Predictions:

AL:
Boston over Cleveland
Detroit over Angels
Detroit over Boston (ONLY, and I TRULY MEAN ONLY if the Tigers manage to have a decent bullpen and have everyone healthy. If their bullpen doesn't come together and is healthy come October, I would pick Boston)

NL:
Mets over Chicago
Arizona over Braves
Arizona over Mets (With a 1-2 punch with Brandon Webb and Dan Haren, a lineup that has hitters at every position, the potential Randy Johnson factor...this team is built for the next 3-5 years to be VERY good)

World Series:
Arizona over Detroit

I just happen to love Arizona and their front office right now for making the best move in the offseason (Haren trade) and keeping all of their prospects and having them be GOOD prospects. I'm projection monster seasons for Conor Jackson and Stephen Drew, but the guy you really need to keep an eye on is Chris Young.

I expect a rebuttal by JD tomorrow...so keep your eyes posted.

This Post Needs No Title...just click the link

http://aa1.naurunappula.com/0/073/220/182693.jpg

Interesting...tidbit.

So, I was just checking out one of my fantasy teams, after I made my changes (due to injuries or whatever) I noticed that Dodgers closer Takashi Saito is out at the moment due to a tight buttocks.

His ass is tight. He's a tight ass.

Richard Widmark dies.

Richard Widmark is best known for his role as Tommy Udo in Kiss of Death a role that he played so fiercely that it made him an overnight sensation. I've seen Kiss of Death one time, and it left a lasting impression. I may not remember everything about the flick, since I saw it probably six years ago or so, but I remember the important parts.

The flick has Widmark's Udo going after a snitch, in the scene I remember it as one of the creepiest scenes I've ever seen (other than Christian Bale's American Psycho role), he shoves the snitch's mother, bound to her wheel chair, down a flight of stairs to her death.

Solidified by Widmark's freakish giggle, the role of Tommy Udo is forever sewn into my mind.

Widmark died at the age of 89, in Roxbury, CT.

GO JOE! Snake Eyes pic's leak!

Holllly shit.

I am so stoked for this flick, I mean, come on. A live action GI JOE flick? It's about damn time, Ray Park will be playing Snake Eyes in the flick (who knows if that's him under the black garb) alongside Dennis Quaid (Gen. Hawk) and Channing Tatum (Duke) just to name a few.

Check out the picture and be amazed.

Banks to potray W's wife...

Elizabeth Banks, whom we'll see in Zack and Miri Make a Porno (which according to Smith is being cut, and edited as we speak having already been cut down to a mediocre 2 hours. Theatrical cut should be buck-thirty, buck-forty) and have seen in the Spider-Man flicks playing Betty Brant, and in Seabiscuit, and Slither, has been cast in Oliver Stone's Bush biopic W. She'll star alongside Josh Brolin who'll play (the soon-to-be former) President, and play his wife Laura.

This movie is going to be FUBAR.

Literally.

Long Beach Fired Dept. New Calender...is on FIRE!

The Long Beach Fire Department, which is located on Long Island, has put out a fantastically awesome calendar full of barely clad chicks ...

I would like to thank them for that.

Jericho cancelled....again.

Yeah, that's pretty much it. I'm not surprised it was canceled. I mean, it basically got renewed to get canceled.

Brian McNamee faints behind the wheel...

Brian McNamee is the former personal trainer for Roger Clemens, and reportedly gave him a shot of the HGH in his butt. That's neither here nor there, apparently McNamee fainted behind the wheel of his car and crashed head on with a bus. He claims he fainted because of on-going medical problems; No one involved in said crash was hurt according to Newspaper reports. The crash happened in Queens' Far Rockaway.

Maybe he was on the hookah.

Michael Stipe Announces he's a gay.

Not that there's anything wrong with that, of course. Michael Stipe, the frontman for major band REM has announced that he's gay.

And really...

Like this was a fucking secret?

Franks signs with the Jets; White reportedly arrested in Denver

Couple of big NFL Stories coming out of the woodwork...

And yes, I know there was a small gap without posts; lets put it this way, I am STILL fucking hungover.

Bubba Franks has apparently agreed to a free agent contract with the New York Jets. I am, actually, stoked about this news. Bubba Franks has proved his worth, and will be an awesome additional to the Jets. I love what the Jets are doing; you've got to go out there and spend some cash to win some games.

Now this is just some weird fuckin' news...Fanball.com is reporting:

LenDale White has reportedly been arrested in Denver on Saturday, according to 9News.com. White was "cited" in Denver on Saturday on several charges — destruction of property, disobedience to a lawful order, and interference and resisting. The former USC tailback reportedly had arthroscopic knee surgery earlier in the off-season and hails from the Denver area.

Uh...This is really not good.

Happiest Day Ever.

ROB THOMAS...

ROB FUCKING THOMAS.

The clear cut mastermind behind Veronica Mars is apparently working on a Darren Star-free BEVERLY HILLS 90210 SEQUEL.

Oh Man, I'm excited.

I am highly skeptical

There's a new Incredible Hulk coming out on June 13th of this year...basically redoing the first movie that basically sucked (though, I liked it, black people didn't). I would assume this flick will be action packed, and full of stupid-speak. Edward Norton plays Bruce Banner/Hulk, Tim Roth plays Emil Blonsky/Abomination, Liv Tyler plays Betty Ross.

My problem is...

The action scene in the trailer looks...so bad. At least in the first movie it looked somewhat realistic. First of all, this scene sets up, what I'm assuming is the big showdown between Abomination and The Hulk. If you've read the comics you know that they beat the holy motherfucking shit out of each other, so that's no shock. But Abomination looks...God-Awful. And Zak Penn...Oh Zak Penn you colossal douche bag, you though the name Abomination was too...silly... Are you fucking retarded? The movie is about a Giant Green Mass of Monster fighting a Giant Beige Mass of a Creature, it's basically Rampage the Movie (see: video game Rampage) Zak Penn, you idiot, Abomination is probably one of the greatest villians Hulk would ever face...(first film not withstanding he faced...his own father).

That kind of un-love for the fan boy nation really fucking annoys me.

Here's the trailer. This movie is either going to be AWFUL or WATCHABLE.

Marc's going to be pissed at me...

So, apparently Marc felt that it was a horrible year for Music ...I don't know if he meant thus far, or in total. So, I did a little research...and found that in 2008...there's a shit load of music coming out for the world to listen to.

In March you have,

Panic at the Disco - Pretty. Odd.
We Are Scientists - Brain Thrust Mastery
The Matches - A Band in Hope

-and others I'm sure.

April 1st.
REM - Accelerate
April 8th.
Gnarls Barkley - Odd Couple
POD - When Angels & Serpents Dance
April 14th
The Kooks - Konk
April 15th
Phantom Planet - Raise The Dead
Thrice - The Alchemy Index Vol III & IV
April 22nd
Flight of the Conchords - Flight of the Conchords
Tantric - The End Begins
Goldfinger - Hello Destiny
Jack's Mannequin - The Glass Passenger
Story of the Year - The Black Swan
April 29th
Jason Mraz (!) - We Sing, We Dance, We Steal things
May & Beyond
3 Doors Down - 3 Doors Down 5/6
Death Cab for Cutire - Narrow Stairs & Filter - Anthem for the Damned 5/13
Alanis Morrisette - Flavors of Entanglement
Dr. Dre - Detox
Usher - Here I stand
The Game - LAX

That's only up to JUNE.

As you know...

I will be attending The Bamboozle Festival on May 4th (if all goes well...). Which will have Panic! at the Disco, Motion City Soundtrack, and Phantom Planet (and The Hush Sound...hush they suck) as headliners.

Phantom Planet (who is one of my favorite bands...ever) has a new album coming out April 15th, and Panic! has a new CD coming out March 25th. These are really the most anticipated albums of the year for me. I have been waiting for a new Phantom Planet, since I dig the shit out of this band. I have also been eagerly anticipating the new Panic! album, mainly because their first single "Nine in the Afternoon" is fucking fantastic.

Anyway, the point of this post is to say that Phantom Planet has one of their new songs "Do the Panic" up on their myspace.com/phantomplanet page. You should check it the fuck out, and leave your comments for them to read, be their friend and while you're perusing myspace, check out

MySpace.com/MarcandJDShow for all your radio needs.

Because they are aplenty.

A bunch of new Iron Man pics...

I think, after I saw the trailer for Iron Man which is to be directed by Jon Favreau...I kind of fell in love and got excited. This is a far cry from Favreau's Zathura and Elf...but I believe in the guy, because like us, he's a fan boy. He loves the character of Tony Stark/Iron Man, and from what the trailer shows us...it looks like he did a good job bringing it to reality.

Now, there's the whole thing with The Avengers flick coming out, where as they are crossing the new Incredible Hulk starring Edward Norton into Iron Man starring Robert Downey Jr. I like the prospect of an Avengers flick, with all of the guys coming together, but they have to do it like the comics portray the Avengers now. Iron Man and the whole lot of the Superheroes that have joined the ranks to create a superteam. This means, you have to use the same people, or reinvent the characters...

If you can make The Avengers a reality, you will likely put up a fight against Justice League directed by George Miller staring Adam Brody, Common, Megan Gale, DJ Cotrona, and Armie Hammer as Flash, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, Superman, and Batman respectfully.

No Green Arrow...? FUCK YOU.

I like the Justice League of America - they're more recognized. Like anyone knows who's in The Avengers. Seriously...we're waiting years for these two flicks, probably late 2009...so why not just mark over The Watchmen flick that's coming in 2009...directed by Zach Snyder starring Jeffrey Dean Morgan; that movie is going to be fantastic.

Attack of the Killer Toe-MAY-toes!

Seriously, there's a remake on the horizon of the belovedly campy, fantastically unrealistic, but obviously awesome flick Attack of the Killer Tomatoes. I think, personally, I should write the movie, but if not me the guys at "Ask a Ninja" could possibly do it justice.

However, for a first time director, it's a tall order to fill.

And...No George Clooney? Come on!

The State of Music

Can I just say that 2008 has been the absolute WORST year in music I can possibly remember. I literally cannot say there are ANY albums worth listening this year.

JD will say the best thing to come out this year so far is that Vampire Weekend album, which I have not yet picked up. But compare this to last year when Fall Out Boy, Kaiser Chiefs, Relient K all released by this time. I have found nothing this year that interests me at all. Hopefully this will change startign next week, when The Matches drop their new album and the week after when Panic! At The Disco released their much awaited followup.

Here's what we have to look forward to for the rest of this year:

April:
  • Phantom Planet - Raise the Dead
  • Goldfinger - Hello Destiny
  • Jack's Mannequin - The Glass Passenger

Undetermined:

  • Coldplay
  • Metallica
  • Offspring
  • Oasis
  • Rise Against

Not really that impressive when last year we had:

  • Queens of the Stone Age
  • White Stripes
  • Straylight Run
  • Rooney
  • Rilo Kiley
  • Motion City Soundtrack
  • Foo Fighters
  • Jimmy Eat World
  • Coheed and Cambria
  • Radiohead
  • The Bravery

And remember....2007 was not that great of a year for music either.

Spitzer's a perv...

Somehow...Somehow I always knew this. Eliot Spitzer, the Governor of New York, was implicated in a Sex ring, and apparently he was taped talking about payments for prostitutes.

Gotta love New York.

Purefoy is a Saint

James Purefoy is going to play Simon Templar in Barry Levinson's new The Saint flick. I loved the original with Val Kilmer, it's one movie I can watch all the time. I always did love spy flicks. Although, I do dig James Purefoy from Rome, I just don't know about this one.

Something you will never see/hear on the Marc and JD Radio Show...

That's if you ever...hear the Marc and JD Radio Show...

I'm switching to Hard Liquor

Seriously. I'm thinking about switching over to Vodka Tonics or vodka club soda.

Something that just gets you drunk, and doesn't make you feel like shit (ie: Lager and/or beer = Liquid Bread and it makes you feel bloated and like you want to die.)

Awesome.

This shall be known as "JD'S SWITCH FROM BEER TO LIQUOR of 2008!"

Friday, March 7, 2008

Haha..

Vampire Weekend

Well folks, it's time for "Things that are Awesome" which hasn't been around in a long while, but is bound to make a comeback starting with:

Vampire Weekend by Vampire Weekend.

Vampire Weekend is comprised of four guys who went to Columbia together, and put together an African style of music together, all the while singing and integrating fantastic lyrics into their music. My favorite song of theirs is "Oxford Comma" and you should all hop on YouTube and check it out.

From Porno to a Mall.

Seth Rogen who is right now filming Kevin Smith's Zack and Miri Make A Porno is set to star in Jody Hill's Observe and Report which has Rogen playing a Mall Security Guard who butts heads with the local po-po.

Sounds awesome.

Fast and the Fourious surges on...

Like I said Fast and the Fourious (no that's not an error) is forging ahead and is actually fucking filming! Apparently, they've got almost all of the original cast back; aside from the dude who died. Someone did die right?

Jordana Brewster and Michelle Rodriguez have joined the cast of the fourth flick in the franchise...as well as the gorgeous Gal Gadot a former Ms. Israel who apparently audition for Quantum of Solace, but was turned down! Blasphemers. I don't know what they were thinking or if they were thinking. Diesel and company flew down to meet with her, and almost immediately signed her to the project.

Unfortunate.

Patrick Swayze is apparently dying of cancer.

Who'd at thunk it?

Seriously, that sucks. Not even God can put Baby in the corner!

Wednesday, March 5, 2008

You know what sucks...

When you wake up at 6am to take a much needed piss, and your floor is flooded, because it's been raining like fucking hell for almost a day.

That sucks.

Oh, and your Lost: Season 2 dvd set is soggy.

That sucks too.

Favre Retires after 17 seasons...

Brett Favre is a name that is synonymous with football. You can't think of the greats unless you throw Brett Favre in there. Jim Kelly, Dan Marino, Brett Favre, Bart Starr, etc. I mean, he's one of the most beloved and toughest quarterbacks in history. And he retired today after playing in 17 seasons of fantastic football.

He was drafted by the Falcons in 1991, and in 1992 he was traded to the Packers for their 17th Round Draft pick...He went on to start in the fourth game of that season, and everyone until his retirement. Favre collected nearly 62,000 passing yards, a 442 TDs, 288 INTs, and a lifetime QB Rating of 85.7. Favre has collected the most MVP Awards (3), he has the most consecutive starts by a quarterback (253, 275 with playoffs), most career passing touchdowns 442, Most Career INTs (288), Most Career passing yards with 61,665 yards, most passing attempts 8,758, and most career games with at least 3 TDs (63)

He was in Two Superbowls, against the Patriots in Superbowl XXXI (which was a win) and against the Broncos in Superbowl XXXII (which was a loss). He is a member of 9 Pro Bowl Teams, and 7 Pro Bowl Teams, and is on the All 90's Team.

Brett Favre will be sorely missed on the football field, even if you're not a Packers fan, you always were interested in watching the man work. He's truly an Iron Man.

Marion Cotillard is a douche.

Well, this is awkward. Apparently the chick who won Best Actress this year for Môme, La has went on running her mouth about the 9-11 attacks; saying they're fake, and that the Government did it because the buildings were in need of renovation.

Fuck the heck...

Jets trade Robertson to the Bengals...

The Jets are doing...something. I'm not sure if it can be construed as anything else other than ..something. They're in the midst of trading Dewayne Robertson to the Bengals for a 4th and 5th Round pick (#114 & #151 respectfully).

What the fuck?

Jets shell out more cash...

The Jets are solidifying their defense by signing people after people after people. Calvin Pace, a former Arizona Cardinal just signed a 6-year deal worth $42 million dollars.

Jesssssssus Christ.

They could actually be contenders...

Sunday, March 2, 2008

Lou Piniella is a douche.

"If that's the case, he can go somewhere else," Piniella said. "Win a spot in the rotation, you don't have to worry about it."

Thanks Lou!

Faneca signs 5-year deal with Jets.

Alan Faneca has signed on to play for the New York Jets. Five years, for $40 million dollars. Faneca is 31 years old, and this comes on the heels of the Jets trading Jonathan Vilma to the New Orleans Saints for a 4th Round Draft pick...

What the $@!%?

NEWS!

Firstly the Marc and JD Radio Show makes it's debut on VPZRadio.com tomorrow night at 10pm EST. If you're a fan, come out and show your support.

Thank you.

Secondly, the Metropolitans are making shit WAY too easy for good ol' JD here. I mean, Ryan Church and Marlon Anderson collided today! Haha! This stuff is so good, it kind of just flows off the keyboard. I don't even have to type it.

Okay, so I do have to type it. Whatever. Ryan Church sustained a concussion and apparently doesn't remember "Anything about Anything" (Thanks Willie) and Marlon Anderson suffered a bruised ego...err...chest.

Haha.

Santana roughed up.

The News
Johan Santana's spring training debut with the Mets didn't go so well, as the lefty,
gave up three runs on four hits in two innings of a 5-4 loss to the Cardinals.
Our View
Well, it's time to drop Santana down on your cheat sheet.
Obviously we're kidding (NO THEY'RE NOT). He'll be just fine.
