Stine's "Goosebumps" get writers...

Remember those movies like 18 years ago called Problem Child starring this kid:

You have to admit you kind of liked the flick when it came out in 1990 and even it's ill conceived sequel...John Ritter, God Rest his Soul...did this crap for a living. He did meet his wife though, so it's all gravy.

Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski are teaming up for Goosebumps which'll be based on the old RL Stine Books of the same now. They're actually in the middle of some big projects as of late. The two-some has Ripley's Believe it Or Not starring Jim Carrey (Tim Burton was attached to direct but dropped out), Cell which'll be directed by Eli Roth (Cabin Fever, Hostel) which is based on the Stephen King thriller of the same name. They also wrote Ed Wood which is a fucking cult-favorite.

Question is, why are they making a Goosebumps movie now? Ten years too late (practically 20) and of all the random things to do, why sign up these to guys to write it?
