Zach Thomas was released by the Dolphins last week...as we all know. The Dolphins cut Trent Green, Marty Booker and others, and also released their veteran Thomas after 12 years playing for the team.
The 'fins are obviously going in a different direction. . . Is it a good one though?
Zach Thomas has somewhere north of 1600+ tackles. He's been a solid defensive player for pretty much all of his 12 seasons and when it comes down to it, he's not the one who lost 15 games. Is a rebuild really the answer to a season that left Dolphins fans moving about-face to Baseball season after five games?
No it is not, The Dolphins should actually have kept a couple of these guys especially Thomas (and I know he was injured), maybe not the bust-that-was Trent Green, but Thomas would've been ideal. Now, what's going to happen is Thomas is going to sign with the Patriots and pull a Junior Seau and be unstoppable.
This annoys me.
But honestly, what doesn't?

Fins get a coach...
Tony Sparano, formerly with the Dallas Cowboys for the past five seasons, has agreed to become the coach of the Miami Dolphins. Good luck with that one. I find it funny that people are saying the Dolphins have a great young team to build around...
Here's a great idea...trade away Chris Chambers...
Oh wait!

Fins renew Ricky Williams' contract.
Something that shocks me is that Weed-Fiend Ricky Williams gets another shot, while Cam Cameron gets fired. I know that going 1-15 is not good, but Ricky Williams has had more strikes than any fucking football player ever.
Ricky Williams is staying put in Miami care of Bill Parcells.

Dolphin's put the kabosh on Cameron.
I'm sure they were thinking about doing it, it's not like you really have a strong case when your team goes 1-15, look at Rich Kotite who with the Jets in 1996 went 1-15 and then was succeeded by Pete Carroll (who went to USC and was then replaced by Bill Parcells, who actually is doing all this). So, it comes full circle when you think about it.
The Dolphins put the ax on Cam Cameron after his team has the atrocious feeling of going 1-15. I am sure, nearly positively (almost) that Cam Cameron will coach somewhere else. Then again, Kotite's last season was that 1-15 romping the Jets took.
Which Quarterback was at the helm? For the Jets it was Frank Reich (shudder the thought), for the Dolphins it was John Beck, Cleo Lemon...who names their kid Cleo.. fuck the heck ..., and some other guy named Trent Green (kidding of course).
The Dolphins sucked this year. Downright sucked balls, it's no wonder their entire coaching staff got the ax.
