Laurence Fishburne, from The Matrix and most recently in 21 starring opposite Kate Bosworth will join CSI: Crime Scene Investigations in it's 9th episode after star William Peterson departs the show for good. Fishburne will play an ex-pathologist who is working as a College Criminalistic's professor. He winds up helping the team with a specific case and gets lured in; thus joining the team full time.
With Peterson's departure the show was lacking a central part of the show, so adding a big named actor was the only recourse.
