Schwartzman is bored...

Jason Schwartzman used to be the drummer for one of my favorite bands ever Phantom Planet. Now that he's gone, the band has taken a turn from their nocturnal effervescent moaning to play regular rock n' roll. Which, to be honest, I love. Regardless, I've always regarded Jason Schwartzman as a decent, but wholly misunderstood actor. He's done flicks like Shopgirl, and Darjeeling Limited and Rushmore among others. He was in a little show, that no one remembers called Cracking Up as well. The show starred Molly Shannon and Christopher MacDonald, and was about a college student (Schwartzman) who moved into their Beverly Hills Guest House. It was a crazy show that wasn't recieved well by viewers or critics. It was created by Pasadena mastermind Mike White, so there you go.

So, Shwartzman has taken a bit of time off from TV after starring in a few flicks, and comes back with a show called Bored to Death which is written by Jonathan Ames and directed by Alan Taylor, who directed basically everything HBO ever put on the air (literally). You're asking yourself, who the fuck is Jonathan Ames, and I wish I could tell you. All I know is that he starred in like five episodes of Moonlighting counting back 20 years ago. He also was on the show "The Moth" which I've never heard of. He had a role in Guilty By Suspicion as "Cabbie" which, I believe is him driving a cab. The show Bored to Death is about an author (no doubt struggling) named Jonathan (really!?) who pretends to be a Private Eye.

Sounds intriguing. Mainly because of Schwartzman's involvement

Wes Anderson, a favorite of Marc and JD's Blog of Awesomeness for his flicks "Life Aquatic" and "The Royal Tenenbaums" has a new film coming out starring the likes of Jason Schwartzman, Adrien Brody, and Owen Wilson. It looks pretty fantastic, and you should check out the trailer, here.
