I don't like country music, and I don't like when they act. I did, however, like Joanna Garcia (-Swisher) who recently got married to Nick Swisher. She was on a fan-favorite show Privileged, but that got canceled after one season. She's probably on a future-canceled show called Better With You right now. Needless to say, she's pretty fucking hot.

Usually the hot chick of the week will be based on something that happened this week (and maybe by the end of this, it my still be), but I can't bring myself to make Amy Adams the hot chick of the week.

Nothing against Amy Adams (or her creepy eyes and smile), but I just don't find you that attractive. I've seen a bunch of your flicks (even the one you went bare-assed in) and even saw you brace-faced in Catch Me if you Can. Still, I can't do it, you're a funny looking lady, who also is sensibly decent looking. Notice: I never said she was ugly. There's just something about her and I can't really put my finger on it.

Anyway, the Hot Chick of the Week will be Emily Browning (oh shit, a weekly tie in) of Sucker Punch who looks really hot as a blonde ass-kicker, but not so hot as a short-haired brunette at any premieres.

I remember when I used to have the stand up of Keira Knightley from Pirates of the Caribbean sitting in my bedroom window. The time passed, it got incredibly faded, so I threw it away. It's a decision I regret to this day. Keira Knightley is exceptionally fucking hot. So much so in fact that she can even pull off the short hair style. It's not my thing, per say, but it doesn't make her ugly like it does other chicks (ie: Katie Holmes or Michelle Williams). Therefore, as you can tell I am all in with Keira Knightley from Pirates to The Box to that stupid Soccer movie she made 15 years ago or whatever. I'm just in, because the chick is British and hot and has that accent that we all want to have, but can't. Plus, her lips are sexy when she speaks. It's just magical.

I don't watch Hockey at all, the last time I watched Hockey (and I'm going to date myself here) was when they had the red line following the puck around the ice. I remember when the Rangers won the Stanley Cup and I even have a picture where I'm wearing the shirt, but I could give a shit about hockey. There's 2 sports I follow intently and those are Baseball and Football. I do watch Basketball, but I don't follow stats or anything like I do with Football and Baseball. Hockey, I don't even know what the stats are.

Anyway, some guy hit some other guy and some people are mad about it. From the looks of the hit it looks like it was Hockey. The Bruin hit the Canadian and he smacked his head right into the glass that blocks Team 1 from Team 2. Blammo. It didn't really look, however, like the guy meant for him to get completely demolished.

It has come to light that these two have some history...

Not anymore, because the guy on the Bruins has no recollection of anything that happened in the past 20 years now.

And no, I won't fucking find out their names. They're Russian or something and spelled with a lot of y's and z's and l's. That's all you need to know.

Hot Chick O' The Week #8 Vol. 2

First of all, I've watched one episode of Glee and it was the Madonna episode and it sucked a giant cock. I do not like Glee or musicals for that matter (save of Grease 2) so this is not a show that I would go out of my way to watch.

One cannot denote the fact that this little show has become a fucking phenomenon. I may not like it, but millions of people do. I may not like Glee, but I certainly like Dianna Agron who plays someone on the show who's a cheerleader? I don't fucking know, I just know she's hot. She's also got a starring role (yes, it's a major character) in I am Number 4.

Usually, I would go out of my way to find a picture of a hot chick, but every time I enter the Wal-Mart here I'm bludgeoned with the picture of Katrina Elam who is apparently starring in Pure Country 2: The Gift. I'm not sure what this series is, or what Pure Country 1 was all about or anything, but the chick on the front cover is pretty hot.

It's apparently something to do with Country music, but I don't care, I'm not going to watch it. I just look at pictures of Katrina Elam.

Hot Chick O' The Week #6 Vol. 2

Amber Heard stars in one of my favorite movies of all time Never Back Down starring Sean Faris, Cam Gigandet and Djimon Hounsou. It's actually not just about fighting - to be honest - it has a lot to do with loss and how you deal with it. Sean Faris' character loses his father when he lets him drive drunk (he was also in the car) and it brings out an anger in him that causes him to lose his shit.

Bring in the always anarchistic Cam Gigandet and you have Rocky 2000. I've always liked calling it the Rocky of 'our' Generation, but I don't know if that's true. It's not the greatest movie ever, but it's thoroughly enjoyable, has a decent soundtrack, and has decent acting. Leslie Hope - of 24: Season 1 - fame stars as Faris' mother.

Anyway, this flick stars Amber Heard, who is currently starring opposite Nicolas Cage in Drive Angry 3D which is a flick I never want to see, but she looks very fucking hot in the trailer, therefore it might be one of those things you have to see. She's also - apparently - a lesbian (as she's dating a female artist) - or Bisexual. On way or the other hot.

Isaacs joins "REM"

REM is being labeled an Inception-like pilot written by Kyle Killen, who wrote the amazing Lone Star that was incidentally canceled 2-episodes into it's season, has found it's star in Jason Isaacs. Isaacs is best well known for Harry Potter probably, but I remember him as the criminal brother in Brotherhood which aired on Showtime. It was a great show with a great cast, and ended prematurely.

Speaking of Movie Stars taking a turn towards television:

Maria Bello is planning on taking on the role made famous by Helen Mirren in Prime Suspect. This would be a US remake of a successful UK series.

Ashley Judd has been tapped to play the lead in ABC's Missing about a CIA Agent (Judd) who travels overseas to find her missing son.

Also, he's not a movie star, but Keifer Sutherland is returning to FOX in Tim Kring's new show Touch.

Unrelated note: Everyone should be watching Shawn Ryan's "Chicago Code" on FOX. It airs Mondays at 9pm.

It wasn't long ago that Sarah Michelle Gellar was in one of the most popular and cult television shows of all time; Buffy The Vampire Slayer. That show gave way to a pretty good film career and I use the term 'pretty good' loosely. The Scooby Doo flicks, The Grudge (and it's lackluster sequel), she was in Richard Kelly's Southland Tales (which no one has ever seen), and she voiced April O'Neil in TMNT.

She was actually booked in a new show to be on HBO called "The Wonderful Maladays," but the show never came to fruition (or it didn't pass the pilot). Now, she's got another show, which is being scripted by the writers behind Supernatural Eric Charmelo & Nicole Snyder.

The show, tentatively (or not) called "Ringer" has a pretty convoluted plot and this is from Ain't It Cool News:

"CBS pilot about a lady on the run from the mob who comes to impersonate her wealthy twin sister. If that’s not complex enough a premise, the wealthy sister is apparently ALSO on the run."

I don't even know what to think about that plot, BUT...it intrigues me that CBS is pulling away from the whole "NCIS" "CSI" "Hawaii 5-O" "Criminal Minds" thing. "The Good Wife" and "Ringer" back to back could be a hard sell for any day of the week (say Wednesday "Ringer" "Good Wife" "Criminal Minds") without shifting their entire lineup around. And no, I haven't watched "The Good Wife" since it's pilot episode and it didn't light my world on fire.

Eight you say!

I suppose it’s time for the movies of the year.

Granted I have not seen them all, but the ones I have seen I can clearly base my decisions off of that.

I do, however, want to see The Fighter pretty badly.

The Social Network – A flick directed by David Fincher and written by Aaron Sorkin based on a book by Ben Mezrich. Ka-fucking-ching. Aaron Sorkin has penned three of my all time favorite television shows: “Sports Night” “The West Wing” and “Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip.” David Fincher on the other hand is the director of Se7en, Fight Club, Curious Case of Benjamin Button, and he’s already in the midst of directing the US Remake of Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. Granted, I’ve got off topic, The Social Network is like the movie Network for our generation. It’s got the dialogue, it’s got the betrayal, and it’s got the assholes. It’s a movie centered around, of all things, Facebook. Which, every-fucking-body knows about. You haven’t met a person who doesn’t use Facebook, and the person who doesn’t, just doesn’t know how. Not only is this flick the best of the year, but the soundtrack was made by Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails. The flick will most likely win Best Oscar, if it doesn’t, it’s because The Fighter did. (And I haven’t seen that – yet).

The Town – Ben Affleck is maybe a better director than he is an actor. Maybe. I mean, Gone Baby Gone, if I remember was my number one flick back in 2007 (It was! http://marcandjdaregreat.blogspot.com/2008/01/jds-top-flicks-of-2007.html) and for good reason. The Town is based on the book by Chuck Hogan called Prince of Thieves and all but the ending and the ‘showdown’ are the same. I think I liked the ending in the book more, but the flick was fantastic. So much so, that I went out the day it came out and bought it. As it stands I’m waiting for Ben Affleck to fail as a director and he hasn’t yet. The Town is acted so well, halfway through; you forget you’re watching a movie. Jeremy Renner deserves some accolades for his performance as a guy who is just trying to hang on to everything he’s ever known, while Affleck’s character is trying to escape the life that has turned him – eternally – into a scumbag. The flick was exceptional and you should go buy it right now.

To Save a Life – I’m going to catch flack for this one. This flick is so beyond the realm of anything I would ever watch. Life is a pretty heartwarming – and often times emotionally heart-wrenching- tale about a guy who loses a former best friend to suicide. Jake Taylor’s (Randy Wayne) life turns upside down when his former best friend – who he lost touch with some years ago – eats a bullet. Up is down, Black is white. He doesn’t know where to turn, as his girlfriend doesn’t understand, his parents are in the midst of a divorce, and he turns to Christianity. He loses friends, loses girlfriends, gains friends, and ultimately comes to terms with what happened. This flick was definitely one of my favorites of the year, and I think it might have come out in 2009, however, the DVD was released in 2010. Therefore, I don’t care.

Kick-Ass – Kick-Ass is based on the exceptionally well-written comic book by Mark Millar. The flick was directed by Matthew Vaughn who most of you probably don’t remember directed the awesome Layer Cake which sky-rocketed Daniel Craig to stardom (ie: playing James Bond). Kick-Ass, like last year’s Watchmen was so much like the funny book it was unfathomable. Aaron Johnson who plays Kick-Ass/Dave Lizewski was the character I remember from the book almost identically. Vaughn stayed so true to the book that he probably caught some flak from non-comic book readers, but who cares. Fanboys love their comic book flicks, and thankfully we’ve been given two of the best in the last two years (in Watchmen and Kick-Ass).

Inception – I don’t know where to begin with Inception, because it was viciously awe-inspiring and confusing all at the same time. This was the first flick I’ve ever seen in IMAX (other than those weird Under the Sea things for school) and it won’t be the last, it was insanely awesome to watch it on a screen as big as my house. It stands to reason that a movie doesn’t necessarily have to make sense (quite yet) for it to be on your Top 10 list, it just has to make you want to watch it again. I never watch movies I don’t like twice, I never have, I never will. I watched the shitty UHF one time in my entire life – and that was one time too many. Inception, however, I got for Christmas on glorious Bluray and plan on watching it many, many times.

Shutter Island – I’ve actually grown quite fond of Leonardo DiCaprio in the last couple of years. Since I saw him in Gangs of New York I think I stopped hating him for making Titanic and then The Departed happened and it was like the greatest flick with the word ‘fuck’ in it since Clerks. For some insane reason, movies in Boston, Massachusetts seem to be awesome. Maybe it’s the accents or the fact that they’re all Micks fighting and shooting each other, because they’re drunk and stupid, but I’m not sure. Shutter Island is a mystery/thriller with the biggest twist of all time at the end and it’s written by my new favorite author Dennis Lehane. Like The Town I read Shutter Island before I saw the movie and was happy that the flick didn’t change anything. The ending of the book is so mystifying and so obvious you’ll be slapping yourself, because you didn’t realize it. Shutter Island is an amazing watch (and read).

Four Lions – Four Lions is a movie about a bunch of bumbling terrorists. It’s so outlandish you’ll openly laugh at the entire atrocity of it. Lions kind of saves comedy for me, there’s not much comedy out there anymore that’s so openly funny and knows it’s limits. It’s either you’re watching Will Ferrel or John C. Reilly or Steve Carrell. Lions takes this real thing (terrorism) and puts a sort-of humility into it that isn’t often looked at. I remember one part where they’re dressed in costumes and one is dressed like a Ninja Turtle and I openly laughed at a movie for the first time in a decade.

Greenberg – Ben Stiller isn’t a great actor when it comes to comedy. I don’t particularly like the Focker flicks or The Heartbreak Kid or Along Came Polly or any of his other slapstick comedy. My favorite Stiller flicks are in no discernable order: Permanent Midnight, Zero Effect, Royal Tenenbaums, Reality Bites, and now Greenberg. I think the word awkward sums up the basis of what Greenberg is. Greta Gerwig is exceptional in the flick and so is Rhys Ifans. Ben Stiller is playing a neurotic mess, and that’s not necessarily the best part about the movie, the best part about the movie is that he doesn’t stop. He continues to be this mess of a person up until the very end. Greenberg is by no means a perfect flick (Number 8, obviously), but it’s definitely one of those movies that get an emotion out of you (ie: cringe worthy). My favorite part of the movie is Stiller with the dog. It’s so weird and great and it shows that Stiller is a much better actor than any of those shitty comedy flicks show.

Okay, considering that I haven’t seen all of the flicks of 2010, I can’t discern which ones are left. I want to see Black Swan, The Fighter, True Grit, Tron, Never Let Me Go etc. Unfortunately I haven’t gotten around to seeing these and at some point I’ll have to review them separately and amend this list.

Pete Postlewaite dies.

Pete Postlewaite died today at the age of 64.

Postlewaite will probably best be remembered for his role in The Usual Suspects, but was actually in two of the best movies of the year this year.

The Town and Inception. He was also in The Lost World: Jurassic Park and Romeo + Juliet.

Man, I think since I saw the episode of Big Bang Theory where Leonard holds up that huge green lantern, I decided that I needed to own one. Unfortunately, I don't. Maybe someday, but not today. All that aside, Mattel has released picks of their upcoming Green Lantern toys. They look pretty detailed oriented, hopefully the flick doesn't suck.

She played Padme in those Star Wars flicks, I don't think anyone ever watched them or anything, and she's got a new flick coming out called The Other Woman. JD's Top 10 Albums of 2010

After careful consideration, I've decided to pick my top ten albums of the year 2010. I don't think I did this last year, for whatever reason, but this year, I see no reason why I shouldn't. I'm not working, so I have nothing but time on my hands.

1. Neon Trees - Neon Trees

The Neon Trees apparently had an album similar to the one they put out in 2010, but I didn't hear that album; I heard this one. And what I heard on this album I loved to death. I listened to it approximately a thousand times and every single time I find something I like about it more and more. The song “1983” (see: year of JD’s birth) is so exceptionally written that it reminds me of shitty/great moments in my own life. The song they’re best known for is “Animal” which is a catchy tune, but not even remotely their best song. The best song on the album, for me at least, is “Your Surrender.”

2. Motion City Soundtrack – My Dinosaur Life

Motion City Soundtrack might be my favorite band. This is a true statement, but it might also be false, but the 3^rd album on this list might belong to my favorite band. A favorite band is a band whose album you can listen to on repeat if you just can’t listen to new music, because you need that familiarity. Dinosaur Life has the makings of that kind of album, because it’s so similar, and yet so different, from every Motion City Soundtrack album. The albums that I personally love, are albums that I know all the words too (ie: Boston – Boston) and this is one of those albums. I can’t pick out a single track or a few tracks to pick, but I will say that “@!#?@!” is an anthem for doing your own thing, for being your own person, and for loving the New York Jets. Well, at least for me.

3. We Are Scientists – Barbara.

I can say for a fact that We Are Scientists are one of my favorite bands (oddly enough that list includes: Blink 182, Metallica, Motion City Soundtrack, and We Are Scientists …Say Anything is a distant 5^th). The only thing wrong with Barbara is that it’s too short. It makes me yearn for more We Are Scientists music. My favorite track on the album is “Jack and Ginger” – so much so that I, stupidly, drank the title and it’s not a drink I am a fan of. WAS are not a band for everyone. I personally don’t know one other person that likes them, but I do. I’ve listened to every album and know every word to every song and consider myself a fan of theirs. If you want to put your ear to something refreshing and listen to some amazing lyrics, pick up this album.

4. Eminem – Recover.

Like I have to say it; Eminem is back. He’s shucked off the stink of his Relapse album and come full force with Recovery. This isn’t the best Eminem album to date, but it’s probably number two. He’s not rapping in little kid voices anymore, Marshall Mathers is a man, man. And far be it for me to wax intellectual about it, because I’ve been a fan since day one, but Relapse was a giant piece of shit as far as Eminem goes, and he knows it. There’s times when a band you love comes out with an album that you just despise (ie: Metallica’s St. Anger) and you just try and try and try to love it, but you just can’t. That was me with Relapse, it was a horrible album.

5. Against Me! – White Crosses

I’ve listened to this album probably a hundred times while I worked out over the summer and sometimes, not even working out, just listening to the harsh vocals and receptive lyrics. ‘I was a Teenage Anarchist/Looking for a revolution’ was the first album and basically they’re talking about all the thoughts you had of a teenager and all the options you had. It’s a damn good song, and so is the rest of the album.

6. Gaslight Anthem – American Slang

I remember when this album dropped and by dropped I mean it was obtainable…illegally…not by me of course, but by someone else, right? I remember this, because of how excited I was. Their second album The ’59 Sound was amazing, I loved every song on the album and can still recite the lyrics from memory. American Slang is the third album of gruff, almost mean sounding Gaslight Anthem, and it’s not as good as 59 Sound, but it’s still good enough to be on here. The lead singer, Brian Fallon, has a little Springsteen going on. Not to mention he’s from fucking Red Bank. Nooch.

7. Brandon Flowers – Flamingo

Brandon Flowers is the lead singer of the rock band The Killers, and this is his first solo album. All I have to say is that if is his first shot at putting out a solo album…I can’t wait for the second album. Flamingo is a mix of pop, rock, and melody enriched music that takes you from one extreme to the other. He croons about Las Vegas in Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas, where the Killers originated, and he sings with Jenny Lewis (of Rilo Kiley and Jenny and Johnny) in ‘Hard Enough’ – which is a pretty amazing duet. The album didn’t receive the most critical praise, but that’s expected, it’s a weird album with a very vague message (if any). It’s very catchy though and it’s an easy listen. It’s an album that you can just sit down and enjoy.

8. Pete Yorn – Pete Yorn

I don’t know what it is with Pete Yorn, but every album he puts out is different. He had that awful album with Scarlett Johannson that was practically unlistenable and his prior solo effort was just way to soft and mellow to listen to. This album, however, returned Yorn to his Musicforthemorningafter days.

9. Vampire Weekend – Contra.

I think I’m alone in liking Vampire Weekend, at least when it comes to my friends, but they’re awesome. They’re music is severely different compared to anything else out there and they sing about weird shit. I love that about them. At this point who hasn’t heard Holiday on those car commercials? I think my favorite song off the album is “Cousins” though, it’s quick, fun, and I’m not sure if it means anything, but whatever.

10. Kanye West – My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy

First of all, I could give a shit if Kanye West stole the microphone from Taylor Swift, there I said it. Kanye West is a lunatic, and he’s completely out of touch with reality, but that’s what makes him who he is. Everyone out there hates Kanye West, because of what he did to Taylor Swift, but I don’t care. Maybe West was drunk, maybe he was high, and who gives a crap. To be honest I watch more television than I probably should. I get pissed when my DVR doesn't record something and I probably shouldn't. I watch stupid shows that I probably shouldn't waste my time with and get annoyed when they get canceled. I should say, that I used to get annoyed. Lately, I don't get annoyed with the cancellations of television shows, because it's honestly nothing I can help. I remember calling FOX, yelling at them about canceling "John Doe" and now looking back at that I can't help but realize how absolutely fucking pathetic that was.

I was ill informed back then about television. Like anything else, TV is a fucking business and if people aren't watching then people aren't buying the shit that are in the ads that play during your TV show. "Lonestar" is the first casualty of the 2010 Fall TV schedule. "Lonestar" is a show about a Con man, who has two wives in the same state. It stars a fairly newcomer in James Wolk, who if you do a double take, looks exactly like Kyle Chandler's offspring. Actually, so much so that he could be Chandler's son. The show - which was delicately explained in this article - was adored by critics and shit on by audiences. Critics loved the shit out of this show, because unlike everything else coming out this season it was unique. It wasn't that it was the greatest show to ever grace television, it was just that it was a unique concept. Unfortunately, unique doesn't necessarily garner ratings in the TV-biz, so therefore "Lonestar" bit it. Shit happens.

I remember becoming infuriated when "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" - the first show from Aaron Sorkin since "West Wing" - and feeling robbed of an opportunity to watch a great, well-written show. I also remember refusing to watch "30 Rock" because of it and now that I've seen "30 Rock" (completely caught up) and I love that show as much as I loved "Studio 60." It's absolutely a crap shoot as to what show is going to stick and which one isn't. It's like throwing shit at a wall in all actuality. So, when I made the presumption that "Lonestar" would be canned after 3 episodes, I wasn't kidding. I literally thought the show as going to be canned after 3 episodes. I did not look at ratings or at reviews or anything like that, I just know that good shows get canceled. Good shows, such as "Lonestar" which can only be described as "too smart for it's own good" get canned, because people just don't get the allure. The show was exceptionally acted and completely different than anything else on TV and that was the problem. I've come to terms with the fact that we live in a world where cop shows (ie: "Law and Order" "CSI" even the new "Hawaii Five-O") are what people want to watch. Cop shows and 30 minute comedies that you don't have to think about.

If it's not a cop show and it's on the big three (ABC, CBS, NBC) it's either Science Fiction or a cop show. If you watch FX or HBO or Showtime then you're in luck if you want to watch something different. FX started the whole thing with "The Shield" on Cable television and now they have "Sons of Anarchy" and some of the best 30 minute shows on TV. I digress though, because the point of this - if there is a point - is that TV sucks. Plain and simple. Movies are superior and much easier to love.

Anyway....

Greg Giraldo died. It's a very, very sad day for comedy, because this guy was one of the funniest fucking guys on the planet. He was blunt, honest, and a complete asshole and since he wasn't on a mainstream TV show, no one knows who he was. He did the majority of the Comedy Central Roasts (that I watched at least) and it's very sad that he's gone.

Holy shit, it's been months and years since I've posted on this blog and for good reason I suppose (not really). I've been a lazy bastard for the last probably two years, but I am going to post on this more, I promise. I post on Twitter and Facebook and that's just easy shit. That's me saying shit like "My dog scratched me in the face and now I look like a Bond villain" (fuck it is spelled villain, damn it).

Twitter and the like make people lazy as hell, and that's a problem for a lot of people unless you're like Kevin Smith (@ThatKevinSmith) who posts four thousand times a day or Kanye West (@kanyewest) who's tweets are so irreverent that it's almost painful to read them sometimes. Twitter and Facebook are making life so impersonal that it's almost as if News and Blogs are soon to be non-existent. I am just as bad as everyone else though - a fucking JETS fan to boot - and a twitteraholic (that will be a word, just you wait) and a constant facebook updater, but I must stop for my own good. My own mortality (and mental stability) depend on this.

Anyway, to the point here, my brother Dan-O came to visit on Monday for my Mother's birthday...and I spent 3 days drinking 37 beers with him in the span of what I can only guess was 18 hours, because we didn't drink all day or anything like that, we just drank at night and at the bar, and wherever we could sneak it in. The fact of the matter is that I haven't drank two days in a row in a while and my liver (who is now breathing sighs of relief) was cringing on Wednesday night when we drank the remaining 18 pack of beer that was left.

More pressing matters though would be the fact that my brother fucking smokes now, because of his girlfriend or his friend Jimmy or even my parents, I don't know. I don't smoke. I've lived by the motto love the lungs hate the liver, but lets be honest, I don't hate my liver. It's working a little overtime right now, but overall I treat it pretty well. My brother smokes Camel Lights. Joe Camel has suckered my brother into smoking cigerrettes...that Penis-Faced Mother fucker.

Either way, he's probably going to die before me now which is going to be rough despite the fact that I weigh a good 140 pounds more than he does. Smoking is a funny fucking thing, because I've tried it and I don't like it. I think it's a rite of passage that you have to try smoking a cigarette or something, but I'm glad that shit didn't stick, two of my best friends smoke. I won't smoke cigarette's - even drunk - I would smoke the weed, because at least you get something out of that - fuck, if I'm going crave something, it's going to be corn dogs, or fucking pickles, or cheese. Fuck cigarettes.

The Hard Knocks title was mainly because I watched all of Hardknocks: Training camp with the NY Jets, because I'm a die-hard fan and I never really discussed it.

Prediction: NY Jets vs. Green Bay Packers in the Superbowl. Jets taking it 24-14.

Before I go, I am getting REALLY fucking sick of the spam comments. If you're a spam commenter you're getting labeled as such you wastes of fucking space. I'm tired of getting the emails at 3 in the morning saying that "Anonymous" has posted "DO YOU WANT TO MAKE YOUR PENIS LARGER? CLICK HERE!"

...Another Scream movie huh? I liked Scream and Scream 3, but didn't really care for the second. A fourth movie will hopefully be the last, as Neve Campbell is coming back to reprise her role of Sidney.

Braves ...making moves...

Well it looks like the Braves are actually willing to make moves to further along the team. Whether it just be to make us look younger or what-have-you, it's kind-of working.

The trade: Javy Vazquez (+ surely hittable Boone Logan) for Melky Cabrera (also Mike Dunn, and another highly touted reliever #3 in the Yankee Farm System perhaps). The trade definitely raised some eyebrows as the Braves were seriously trying to trade Derek Lowe up until this trade went down. The problem being; Lowe's Salary. So, factor into the equation that Vazquez was not likely to duplicate his numbers from 2009...he'd be awesome trade bait. Now, Cabrera in this deal isn't the main reason this deal went down. The Braves love pitching. Pitching, Pitching, Pitching. I wish they would love hitting, but they love pitching, so this farm-guy Arodys Viscaino is supposedly the #3 prospect in the Yankee farm system according to Baseball America, so...we'll take him I guess.

The signing: Fuck Adam LaRoche I guess...because the Braves went out and signed Troy Glaus to a deal to play First Base. Glaus barely played last year for the Cards (he came over in the Rolen deal) and this deal kind of baffles me, BUT...if Glaus can manufacture numbers like he did a few years ago, and stay healthy, it might not be all bad. (the Raul Mondesi deal is really poking the back of my mind right now).

The rumors: The rumors are swirling mainly because the Braves are still willing to trade people and sign people. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution the Braves have between $7 and $9 million dollars to spend. This could be a quick and easy bat. Jermaine Dye is out there. Dye is a free agent because the White Sox bought out his $950,000 option...the Braves could use a Bat like his...a promising 40+ HR hitter a few years ago, still hitting 30 HR a season, he could say for $6-7 million, but it seems like the Braves have some ideas to work on. Who knows.

In a (non) shocking turn of events, the New York Jets have fired their Head Coach. After starting out the season with a new QB (namely Brett Favre...come on, you knew that) and a team that was revamped and rebuilt, the Jets went from best to..fucking abysmal losing 4 of their last five games. Brett Favre didn't help the cause either he had a league best 22 INTs and had 2 TDs in those four losses.

The Jets are considering their options. Bob Sutton and Brian Shottenheimer are still on the payroll for now...and they should've been shown the door too. No doubt about it. You play a zone defense and blow a lead to the Pats on a shitty pass thrown by a "rookie" QB, and you still have a job. Fuck yourselves.

Brett Favre, fuck you too, man. Honestly, what the fuck happened to Brett Favre that he turned into 2007's version of Chad "Luck-Chuck" Pennington? Ailing shoulder aside, Brett Favre should've been honest, and lets be reasonable, the Offensive Play Calling has the charisma of a kid with down-syndrome turning on-and-off a light switch. Brian Shottenheimer should've been shown the door after the atrocious game at San-Fran weeks ago.

Now there's talk of bringing in Marty Shottenheimer. Fine. Whatever. You can blame Mangini for not stepping up, that's fine, but you know what, when your players aren't making the plays they're supposed to be making - you need to fucking light a fire under their asses. They lost against four of quite-possibly the worst teams in the NFL; and you, as the owner, don't come out and say "What the fuck?" George Steinbrenner said that Johnny Damon had to cut his hair faster than the Jet Owners came up with a resolution.

So, just like FOX Network, the New York Jets can suck a dick. I've been a die-hard Jets fan my entire 25-year-old life. My dad, has been a Jets fan for like 50 years, we bleed Green and White, but after this display of ...I don't even know what to call it? Self Destruction? Implosion? I don't know.

Well...I do know. I will be a Jets fan forever. Just like the Braves. I will be a fan no matter what happens. I wish shit like Coaches getting fired wouldn't happen, but unfortunately it does. There's nothing I, as a fan, can do. The Jets started out 8-3 and ended up 9-7. Talk about a shitty way to end a wonderful start. . .

On the other hand here are Mangenius' parting words:

With the revamping of a show like 90210..and to have it be such a hit, there's been talk of a Melrose Place 2.0...

I am not really a big fan of Melrose Place; Beverly Hills 90210 you bet, but I only watched MP when the Bevery gang trounced onto their turf. I own the first season of MP, but haven't watched but a few episode yet.

This was all speculation until...One Tree Hill creator/show runner/writer Mark Schwahn agree to pen the pilot episode.

I love "One Tree Hill" I always have. It's been around for 6 years and I think the show only gets better with age. To be completely honest with you, it reminds me of Beverly Hills 90210, the way the characters are progressing and what not.

A seventh season seems almost imminent, because the ratings have been rather good. Schwahn has it in his WBTV contract to stay as showrunner/exec-producer.

Stargate: Universe casts its lead.

Something I don't really understand. I like Stargate SG-1, and own Stargate: Atlantis season one (but have neglected to watch), but I can't get around this Stargate: Universe idea. Granted, I like the show, that might sound nerdy, but it's not a badly written show .. poor excuse?

Stargate: Universe has cast it's lead with Robert Carlyle, who was most recently seen in 24: Redemption opposite Keifer Sutherland. He goes kaplooey.

She passed away, though, and most people have been giving the immortalization of Bettie Page through Gretchen Mol's performance in The Notorious Bettie Page; or through Teaserama.

Things that happened to me on the way to work...

First of all, I am fucking beyond hung over and working. I shouldn't be working, but my boss fired the girl I work with, so I have too. Ultimately it doesn't bother me, but I could've used 3 or 12 more hours of sleep today. This mornings drive to work was especially fucked up and weird. Firstly:

1. There was no old people on the road. Only a blonde hottie with a face like an angel and (I'm guessing) breasts that are like cantaloupes from heaven. She was driving faster than I was and that leads into part two of the drive to work;

2. A fucking black SUV that had to have been a Statey or at least a Cop, comes barrelling down the road, lights flashing - so I'm definitely thinking the worst. This girl in front of me slows down and I slow down and figure I'm getting pulled over for speeding, and pull off to the right. And he speeds past me doing about 90 mph, and I sit there in awe for a moment. Then pull back onto the road and start driving. Now, the funniest thing about this episode was that I wasn't like nervous. When I was first starting out driving, my heart dropped into my stomach and I was nervous, but this time around was the three C's: Calm, Cool, and Collected. This didn't lead to part three, but still, it's kind of hilarious.

3. I'm sitting at a light, waiting with my windows open in 23 degree weather (I happen to prefer the cold, plus if you're freezing your ass off, it takes your mind off the hangover), and I look in my rear view mirror and see a guy, in a read Madza (or something like it) dressed as Santa Claus. I kind of just stare for a minute wondering what the fuck was going on, but I didn't get out of the car and hit him, I just continued driving.

So, they went out and got themselves a seasoned Post-Season pitcher with over two-thousand K's in Javier Vazquez. Now, it just so happens, they have made an offer to Free Agent Pitcher AJ Burnett. Which is apparently in the realm of $16 million annually (yearly for you retards out there) with an option for a fifth year.

Burnett is, without a doubt, a good pitcher. It doesn't showcase your talent when you're pitching for a team like the Blue Jays unfortunately, but he's a hard-throwing left hander. Burnett would be a great addition to an already struggling Braves rotation.

Daniel Craig, the most recent and awesome portrayer of James Bond was offered the role of Thor in Kenneth Branagh's upcoming (2011) Thor movie. He declined, however, stating it would be too much of a power trip if he were to play Bond and Thor.

I couldn't honestly see Daniel Craig playing Thor anyway. Thor is a crazy ass ripped mother fucker, who carrys a big hammer and shoots lightning bolts from the sky. Who could I see playing Thor? I don't even have a suggest for that.

Now...a power trip? No one even knows who Thor is. Honestly, you go up to someone on the street and they think Thor is an animated dog movie. Bond is widely known, so I don't think you'd have a problem playing both...but once again, I don't concur.

Knight Rider gets back nine...

Critically bashed NBC reboot Knight Rider is on the recieving end of a back nine order from NBC. Which means, it has been upped to a full season order.

The show in all actuality, has been holding pretty strong at it's Wednesday time slot, and despite the reviews, it's not that bad of a show.

I guess it's my guilty pleasure, I love it. It's so campy, and cheesy, and Val Kilmer voices KITT, how can it be bad.

RollingStone is one of my favorite magazines, I've had subscriptions to it that I've paid for, as well as subscriptions that I've gotten for free, but overall it's one of the greatest magazines to read for anything. There's sports in there, there's literature in there, movies, and obviously music.

RS was founded in 1967 by editor Jann Wenner and music critic Ralph Gleason. It was always controversial - especially when it started it's political coverage with Hunter S. Thompson (who wrote Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas) and only changed it's format once in the 90's by trying to get to a younger audience. Sales rose, but it was slammed critically because it turned into a crappy magazine. It eventually went back to being it's mixture of politics, music, etc, but sales declined, however circulation rose.

Anywho, RS is going to shrink itself to the size of a regular magazine.

Gossip Girl gets an extra 2 episodes...

The ratings for the sophmore show Gossip Girl are in, and they're fucking enormous. CW has announced that it wants two more episodes of Gossip Girl for the season - which pretty much solidifies a season three (me thinks). The show is really good, and I guess you could say it's a chick show, but I know dudes who watch it. It's more than about chicks who socialize, it's about drugs, sex, and rock and roll, man.

The show stars Chace Crawford, Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, and Penn Badgely.

USA renews some shows...

Psych and Burn Notice return for the second halfs of their respective seasons (3rd and 2nd respectfully), but USA Network has decided to pick the shows up for a 4th and 3rd season; Notice getting a 3rd and Psych getting a 4th.

These shows are two of my absolute favorite things to watch. Psych is downright hilarious - while Burn Notice borders on seriously comedic. If you didn't know I loved the shortlived USA show Touching Evil which starred Notice lead Jeffrey Donovan - so throw in Bruce Campbell and sexy Gabrielle Anwar and I'm hooked.

On a lighter note, the peacock (NBC) has ordered for more scripts of Knight Rider and FOX has ordered two more scripts for Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

Unbreakable is a rather good movie, much like his first effort The Six Sense and third movie Signs, M. Night Shyamalan made the unbelievable believable. Unbreakable starred Bruce Willis and Samuel L Jackson - Willis as a guy who realizes that he's got a special ability after he is the sole surviver in a devastating train crash.

The movie is really good, if you haven't seen it - you should - but anything after Signs for M. Night Shyamalan is pretty much Unwatchable if you will.

The Village is a fucking joke. It's not the 1300's, it's the 2000 and those people are all batshit crazy insane.

Lady in the Water - we GET it..

The Happening...I will not rant about this movie, as much as I really want too, because I've already done so.

M. Night Shyamalan is now making a live action The Last Airbender movie? Granted, I do not know what this movie is about, but I know it's based on some animated TV show that Justin is obsessed with.

M. Night Shyamalan is a ...good...story teller. His ideas, however sometimes illconcieved, are interesting and thought provoking. It makes you wonder if he says something like this:

"I want to write it right now, but I want to write it for the right reasons. I want a story to pop into my head that is organic and expressive of who I am. You know, these are all kind of journals of where I am emotionally, so it's kind of hard. I'm kind of trying to go back to the journal that existed in 1999 for me. But I know me: As soon as I give up on it is when the idea will come to me.”

That he's willing to ...go back and try and save his career off of a movie that no doubt got him critical acclaim.

Slice gets KTFO

Kimbo Slice is famous for beating up Bums in a shipyard. That's what he's famous for...fifteen minutes of internet video fame. He was supposed to fight Ken Shamrock on Saturday Night Fights on CBS ...but Shamrock cut his eye during training and couldn't fight, so they had to find a replacement. Frank Shamrock was suggested, but CBS blocked it (he's their play-by-play guy, and he's also recovering from a broken arm. He would've also given up 45 pounds to Slice).

So they got this guy...Seth "The Silverback" Petruzelli to fight Slice...and Slice gets knocked the fuck out in 14 seconds after 12 punches from Petruzelli who gave up 30 pounds to Slice in the fight. Petruzelli is 10-4 in all of his fights combined, but hadn't fought in almost a year.

Today is a glorious day. Shea Stadium was home to the last Met game ever. Shea Stadium will be torn down in leu of a new Stadium called Citi Field. The second part of this glorious day is not that Bret Favre threw 6 Touchdowns and 1 INT in a blowout of the Arizona Cardinals, but it is that Mets for the 2nd year in a row, miss the playoffs due to their own shoddy play.

The Mets are OUT of the playoffs and the Brew-Crew is in.

Paul Newman made films like The Hustler, The Sting, The Color of Money, Slapshot, Hud, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof....I mean, he made some of the best movies I can possibly think of, and now he's dead at the age of 83 from cancer.

Sarah Michelle Gellar wants to come back to TV and she's getting a chance to do just that with a show called "The Wonderful Maladys" which:

Set in Gotham, "The Wonderful Maladys" ensembler revolves around the dysfunctional lives of three adult siblings who lost their parents at a young age.

The show is going to be on HBO (if it gets picked up and all that. I remember a show called..."Manchild" that didn't get picked up...starring K. Smith) and will be penned by the guy who penned The Life of David Gale and The Interpreter his name? Charles Randolph. Randolph had a failed attempt at a TV back in 2001, which ironically starred original-Buffy Kristy Swanson.

The Hills is a show on MTV (which stands for Music Television...what the fuck?) and it follows LC (Lauren Conrad) and a band of merry nitwits as they trek across California's beautiful landscape in search of fame and fortune.

That's actually not a bad premise if it was a scripted show. As it stands, it is not. The show is a piece of shit, that's supposedly reality television. Funny thing though, Charlize Theron, last weeks Hot Chick O' The Week, thinks The Hills is a piece of shit. I do as well. I think the show is very very bad. I think it's a waste of money to keep throwing these douches out there on TV every Monday and expecting fireworks. Heidi Montag got a ...music career...out of it. I ...guess. Lawerence and Smith team up for "I am Legend" ...prequel.

It's sad to think of how good the book I Am Legend was - and how good the movie I Am Legend was, but the two things were remotely different in certain aspects. Will Smith playing the lead was kind of weird considering it was a white guy in the book. The book also ended differently than the movie.

I personally loved the book. It's not my favorite book ever (Catcher in the Rye) if you must know, but it was a good book. The movie, now, is being made into a prequel. The script is being penned by DB Weiss. The prequel will:

"chronicle the final days of humanity in New York before a man-made virus caused a plague that left Smith’s character the lone survivor among a mutated mob in the city."

I don't know if I can watch another Will Smith flick like this. The original flick was really, really enjoyable. It was sad, scary, and emotional, but this could just ruin it all.

Tonight's premeire...The Mentalist

I will tell you what, The Mentalist is not the best new show of Fall 08. It's not close, but it's a pretty damn good show headlined by Simon Baker (The Guardian) and Robin Tunney (Prison Break). It's got it's quirk, it has it's shine, and it's also very very funny at times. Simon Baker gets into the role almost immediately (that's what actors do), you feel for the character when you find out what happened and why it happened. You realize why he's helping the police, why he can't sleep, why he deals with things with humor instead of utter seriousness.

This is like the Real World's version of USA's Psych, but not nearly as hilarious. Simon Baker plays a guy who pays attention. And after tonight people'll be paying attention to this show.

Unfortunately for The Mentalist ...it goes up against Fringe tonight, but follows Bellasario uber-hit NCIS.

JD's Smallville Recap

Smallville has been one of my favorite shows since it's inception 7+ years ago. A boy Superman with incredible powers, but with no costume to hide who he is. So he has to hide who he is. It's been a long (sometimes gut wrenching) 7 years. Magic was involved, Indians were involved, the entrance to the Fortress was a cave!? All in all, after 7 years, I still haven't stopped watching. Tom Welling does a fantastic job of playing the Man of Steel, and the additions of Justin Hartley as Green Arrow/Oliver Queen is fantastic. And Tom Witwer is apparently going to be playing Doomsday.

The funniest thing about the show now is the opening credits.

Tom Welling is obviously billed first and in one caption he's sporting a pair of glasses and a suit, because he's going to be working for the Daily Planet. Chloe is second billed, Cassidy Freeman is in the opening credits (she'll be playing the new Lex "Tess Mercer") and Sam Witwer is also in the opening credits. Justin Hartley actually gets added to the credits, but Laura Vanderhoot is gone (she'll probably return).

The episode 8.1 called "Odyssey" is the first episode to feature the new creative team. It hasn't missed a beat. The show still owns a lot of different levels as far as characterization is concerned. It opens with Tess Mercer, she's the new baddie, shes calling the shots, because Lex is missing. They're were the Fortress was. In the middle of the arctic looking for Lex. Who shows up, Green Arrow, Black Canary, and Aqua-dude (trying to find Clark Kent).

To fast forward, Chloe is being held in what's supposed to be DDS, but it turns out Lex is holding her against her will. She's got a new power, her brain is faster "than their fastest supercomputer" which is newly added to her powers of healing (which seem to be absent). Clark, we find out, is working in a Russian camp and getting the shit kicked out of him. Apparently the controlling Clark Kent turns out to be taking away his powers.

The Justice Group of Guys Dressed up in Silly Costumes decide they're still going to look for Clark because: "He wouldn't give up on us." They split up, the people holding Chloe make her without her knowledge find Canary and Aquaman and they get taken into Custody.

Clark is still in his Russian hide-away until Oliver comes to save his ass, but not before making it look good. They tussle before Clark asks: "What took you so long?" On the way back they realize where Chloe is being held and go to rescue her in some warehouse that LutherCorp now owns. Clark demands they split up, they do, Clark runs into Lois who is like "What the Eff, Smallville?" she tells Clark to stay behind her and her gun, and they're on the hunt for Chloe who has been made to find Green Arrow.

[Side story is that Lex developed a serum that makes people do whatever he/LutherCorp wants, based on Chloe's mom's powers...etc.]

Lois gets zapped, Clark knocks someone out. He goes to look for GA who has been taken over mentally by this serum now, and takes two Arrows to the chest. Clark goes down, Chloe tries to save him, but Clark is in flashback mode: seeing Lana, his parents, and his life go whizzing by) the last thing he sees is Martian Manhunter, who grabs him and flies the fuck out of there. He flies very near the sun...

Commercial.

When we come back Clark is sleeping on Barn's couch. Manhunter tosses him a football and Clark crushes it in his hands. He's back, but Manhunter has lost his powers because the sun has the reverse effect on him.

Tess Mercer gets a briefcase, inside said briefcase is a blue crystal shaped like the supes emblem.

Clark meets up with the Justice League Members on the corner of a side street - they're taking off in their own directions to stay safe.

Clark goes to the Daily Planet and is squeaking a chair to annoy Lois. And playing with a name plate. He breaks the news that he's the newest writer for the Daily Planet and walks out with a smile on his face. Lois picks up the name plate it reads "CLARK KENT"

That's my recap. I'm not very good at recaps as you can tell.

Carlos Zambrano for the Chi-Town Cubbies fanned ten and threw a No-Hitter Sunday Night. This was his first start since getting an anti-inflammatory injection in his bum-shoulder.

It's the first no-hitter by a Cub since 1972. Burt Hooton and Milt Pappas both pitched No-No's in 1972.
